Deep-tech startup inPhocal has developed a new optical technology for laser marking in industrial production lines. The inPhocal technology is the only of its kind in the world. What you’ll do:

Laser focused on our products! Projects concern laser systems & application development projects and may involve HW, (embedded) SW, optics and/or testing activities. Design for manufacturing and continuous improvement are common sense for you.

You understand l hardware system development and have experience with laser technology to a level that you can lead and challenge the team. Not only do you lead, but work together with the team according to our product development system with phase gates, milestones and predefined deliverables. You set clear expectations within the agreed roles and responsibilities. Delivering according to plan is the team’s goal and you make sure the team wins.

Project manager on location Eindhoven

• Work with product management on translating market opportunities into laser system specification.
• Hands-on mentality: you enjoy the practical side of technology and are not hesitant to jump in.
• Create detailed schedules / Gantt charts for your projects.
• Ensure project deliverables are on time through our effort driven way of working, with team members and relevant matrix participants.
• Own, execute, and prepare weekly updates of detailed project schedules of your projects and report on project status through project dashboards.
• You work together with your sourcing team and partners, reviewing the design for manufacturability.
• Manage project risk throughout the project.
• Have an interest in product creation processes and demonstrate a pro-active approach towards process improvement.
• Promote an open, safe and challenging working environment for the team.

Who we are looking for:

• Minimum of a technical bachelors degree (HBO) in for example Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Physics, Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial engineering. 
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience as project manager, preferably in a systems manufacturing environment.
• You are a strong communicator and team player.
• Good report writing skills in both English and Dutch.
• Familiar with modern design methodologies (Waterfall, Agile).
• Familiar with PRINCE2 methodology or similar, LEAN and critical chain principles.
• Being interested in working at a fast moving startup with high ambitions.
