About us

Salvia is not just another company. Since our founding in 2017, we have grown from a small startup into a globally active team pioneering neuromodulation therapies for migraine. Our mission is to give people with migraine a better life. Our unique, ultra-thin implant is designed to reduce the frequency and intensity of migraine attacks by delivering gentle electrical pulses to the nerves associated with the condition. We are currently in the clinical stage of development.

We are a mission-driven team of 50+ highly motivated colleagues representing over 15 nationalities, with 45% women. Our people bring together a wide range of professional backgrounds and are guided by experienced founders with a proven track record of success. Beyond skills and expertise, we value integrity, curiosity, and collaboration. Our headquarters is located at High Tech Campus Eindhoven, a vibrant innovation hub home to more than 300 high-tech companies shaping the technologies of tomorrow.

The challenge

We offer an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative and collaborative team. In this role, you will work closely with internal development teams and external suppliers, contributing to the design and improvement of active implantable medical devices. You will take ownership of product lifecycle management, with a strong focus on enhancing manufacturability and reliability. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will help ensure our products meet the highest standards in the industry.

This is a great opportunity to work on meaningful technology that makes a real difference in people’s lives.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with internal development teams and external suppliers to design active implantable medical devices that meet both functional and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform characterization, verification testing, and contribute to the development of test methods and equipment. Support design Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEAs) to identify potential risks.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of test procedures, designs, and results, adhering to industry standards and internal quality guidelines.
  • Work with manufacturing partners to optimize designs for manufacturability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead improvements in product design and manufacturing processes to enhance performance, reduce costs, and improve reliability.

Your profile

  • BSc or MSc in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in product development, preferably in the medical device industry (with a focus on active implantable devices).
  • Familiar with technical documentation requirements, ensuring compliance with medical device standards.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing technologies, with a preference for candidates with industry experience.
  • Experience with statistical methods and tolerance analysis (e.g., AQL, Six Sigma) to optimize design and manufacturing.
  • Proven experience working with external suppliers to meet technical and quality requirements.
  • Expertise in 3D CAD design (preferably SolidWorks) for developing complex mechanical systems.
  • A practical, solutions-focused team player with excellent technical skills, adaptable to a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
What we offer

  • Competitive salary, based on your experience.
  • Pension plan and Long Term Incentive Plan.
  • Dynamic, international team
  • Access to the High Tech Campus ecosystem, including on-site events, networking, restaurants, and lots of nature.
  • Free sports options for Salvia employees, weekly gym access and padel court access with colleagues
  • Flexible holiday observance: Celebrate the holidays that matter to you.

If you’re motivated to make a meaningful impact in a growing, mission-driven company, we look forward to hearing from you. Ready to join us? Send your CV and cover letter to mb.info@salvianeuro.com.
