eyeo is an innovative, fast-growing start-up that brings groundbreaking technology in the image sensor space. Our advanced color splitter technology has the potential to disrupt a $25 billion market in the coming years, enabling transformative advancements across industries such as consumer electronics, automotive, medical imaging, and surveillance. As one of the first employees at eyeo, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the future of our product offerings and contribute directly to our mission of revolutionizing the imaging technology sector. If you're passionate about driving innovation and want to build the future of imaging, we want you on our team!

About the Role:

As a System Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and integration of electronic hardware, firmware, and supporting software used in the evaluation and prototyping of our image sensors. You will work closely with the various development teams to architect and create robust and scalable systems that accelerate innovation.

This is a rare opportunity to join a start-up with groundbreaking technology poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s growth trajectory.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design and develop custom electronic hardware (PCBs) for sensor evaluation and system integration.
  • Write embedded firmware for microcontrollers, FPGAs, or SoCs to control image sensors and manage data flow.
  • Develop host-side software tools (e.g., in Python, C++, or similar) for sensor configuration, data acquisition, and analysis.
  • Integrate image sensors into test platforms and support bring-up, debugging, and validation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external cross-functional teams to define system requirements and ensure seamless hardware-software integration.
  • Support lab testing, data collection, and performance characterization of sensor prototypes.
  • Facilitate the transition from lab to production test for eyeo’s image sensors.
  • Maintain documentation for hardware designs, firmware/software codebases, and test procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded systems, hardware design, or system integration. Any background with image sensors and related systems is preferred.
  • Proficiency in PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, or similar).
  • Strong experience with embedded C/C++ and firmware development for microcontrollers or FPGAs.
  • Familiarity with image sensor interfaces (e.g., MIPI CSI-2, I2C, SPI) and camera module integration.
  • Experience scripting and automation tools in Python for system control, data handling and analysis.
  • Solid understanding of electronics lab equipment and debugging techniques.
  • Start-Up Mindset.

Why Join eyeo?

  • Groundbreaking Technology: Work on transformative technology with the potential to disrupt a $25 billion market and change the future of image sensing.
  • Early Impact: As one of the first employees at eyeo, your contributions will directly shape the company’s success, culture, and product offerings.
