2024 marks 25 years since the start of High Tech Campus Eindhoven. At High Tech Campus, we are good at looking ahead – laying the foundation for the future is what we do best. Now we have the opportunity to look proudly over our shoulder to past successes, surprises and secrets. But when we look back, we do so in the context of the future. We rewind time to reflect on our history and fast-forward in time to contemplate the future. Looking back and moving forward. A lot has happened in 25 years, but we have so much more to come. The Open Day is back! Join us on June 8th for a high-tech festival like no other. This year, High Tech Campus Eindhoven is once again a hotspot on the High Tech Discovery Route, kicking off the Dutch Technology Festival.

While looking for some interesting High Tech Campus history for a blog post, our marketing & communications team stumbled upon a dated YouTube video titled “Opening High Tech Campus 17 juni 1999,” published by Henk Hagenbeuk. They watched the retro graphics introduce the opening of the “Philips High Tech Campus” and footage of the festive opening ceremony, complete with an opera singer and fireworks.
At first, we were only amused and fascinated by the sight of a young High Tech Campus, but then it clicked – this will be 25 years ago in June, 2024! To share this milestone with you and ensure we can celebrate with everyone on Campus, we developed Rewind & Fast Forward: our campaign to commemorate all the past and present achievements of the Campus community, and to share all of our ambitions for the future of High Tech Campus Eindhoven.

Henk Hagenbeuk has an incredible website dedicated to collecting and archiving the history of Philips, Philips Nat.Lab, Utrecht and his own family. His YouTube channel also provides a collection of archival Philips and Philips Nat.Lab material.
