Speakers and Content of the Talks

Simon Blakeney, Technical Account Manager at Epic Games

In this talk, we will look at the many ways people are building cutting-edge visualisations, experiences, digital twins and bespoke solutions with the real-time 3D games engine. Real-time solutions powered by Unreal Engine are revolutionising the face of architecture and real estate development around the globe. Our tools help architects, planners and developers to build enlightening visualisations at the planning stage and compelling, immersive sales experiences before, during and after construction. 

Technical Account Manager Simon Blakeney is an Unreal Engine, Twinmotion, and XR expert at Epic Games. His thought leadership contributes to the evolution of Epic’s ecosystem of software products and the generation of publicly available resources for end users in the AEC community. In his capacity as a dedicated specialist for Epic’s key AEC accounts, Simon helps firms successfully adopt cutting-edge real-time solutions. This includes providing guidance on the integration and scaling of the many software solutions under the Unreal Engine umbrella and how to produce interactive worlds with the advantage of AR, VR, and LiDAR technologies. Prior to Epic, Simon was a team member of the Advanced Digital Engineering group within Ove Arup & Partners, where he developed bespoke solutions for a wide range of advanced AEC use cases.

 

Ruben Raadsheer, NVIDIA EMEA Channel Enablement Manager

The opportunity of the metaverse is vast — larger than that of the physical world. Just like in the infancy of the internet, no one can predict exactly how and how large the metaverse will grow — but today, we can lay the foundations. With over 15 years’ experience in the IT industry, Ruben combines Channel experience and commercial acumen with a technical background. Currently he supports NVIDIA’s EMEA partners getting the most out of NVIDIA’s accelerated computing platform. Ruben enables partners to integrate NVIDIA solutions into their offerings to increase their business with end-customers. He connects class-leading hardware to industrytransforming software and frameworks to make these technologies accessible and relevant.

There will be several demo's presenting technologies and examples of the metaverse before and after the talks.

Industrial metaverse: The digital factory BMW factory within the NVIDIA Omniverse 

Cards PLM Solutions will present the industrial metaverse and will explain the Siemens – Nvidia partnership at their booth. NVIDIA Isaac Sim is a scalable robotics simulation application and synthetic data-generation tool that powers photorealistic, physically accurate virtual environments. Haptic Gloves for Natural XR Interactions

Digital Twin Demo of a Robot Cell

This simulation based on Prespective and Unity3D software shows the transfer of sausages for the making of sausage bread. With this simulation, throughput calculations can be made before the machine is built. In addition, the machine's behavior can be analyzed in detail to calculate the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
