About the tournament

According to the European Championship format, the qualified countries are divided into two divisions, based on the final ranking of the previous European Championship. The strongest countries play in the first division - divided into groups A and B. After the group phase, they move directly to the knock-out phase. Naturally, Dutch women are part of this. They have been placed in group A at the European Championship with Hungary, Croatia and Greece.

Based on the world title won in Fukuoka, the Dutch Water Polo women are already assured of the World Cup in Doha (2-18 February) and the Paris Games. The same applies to Spain, which lost the final to the Dutch team in Fukuoka. There is still a ticket for Paris available in Eindhoven for the team that finishes highest (not including the Netherlands and Spain) and there are also three starting tickets for Doha to be earned.
