However, what you consider newsworthy and what the media considers newsworthy might be a bit different. Plus, the process of writing a press release and getting it into the hands of an editor can be long and tricky. That’s especially true if it’s your first time writing one.

To complicate matters further, the Internet and social media have changed all the rules.
