In this workshop, provided by the Netherlands Patent Office, you will learn the basics of patent searching.

What will be covered (among others):

• Different methods for efficient searches in patent databases;
• The first steps on how to interpret search results;
• How to check the validity of patents;

With many millions of patent publications, patent databases are a source of inspiration to save time and money during your innovation process. They provide you with information for your own product development, but also about developments in your field and about competitors.

By reviewing this information in time you avoid reinventing the wheel or infringing the rights of others. In addition, patent information provides insight into, for example, strategic cooperation partners.
