As a Field Applications Engineer for the Key Accounts Team, you will be working within E Ink’s Commercial Team as a key member responsible for resolving customer technical issues, and guiding projects from inquiry phases all the way through mass production. This exciting and fast-paced role requires engaging with customers and partners, and coordinating activity with team members across multiple sites and locations. This is a great opportunity for people who love learning about a wide range of subjects, and are energized by bringing new technologies and products into the marketplace.

 Responsibilities:

  •   Provide on-site and remote technical support (phone, online) to customers and partners
  • Be the 1st point of contact and the driving force to address inquiries and resolve issues, working with members of the global organization
  • Characterize and troubleshoot customer display issues, including display-related electronics
  • Build and manage customer engineering relationships
  • Be the advocate of customers, bringing VOC to internal teams
  • Generate and communicate technical engineering reports and application notes
  • Prepare and demonstrate evaluation kits and new engineering prototypes
  • Provide trainings to customers and partners on E Ink technology and products
  • Will need to work with customers and internal teams in different time zones
  • Travel – Domestic & International, possibly with short notice (up to 15-20%)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (MS, PHD) in a technical field – preferably in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • Three (3) years of experience in customer facing support roles
  • Knowledge and experience with hardware circuit analysis and software debugging
  • Strong technical acumen and understanding of electronics including schematics, semiconductor, and engineering system design. This includes experience with digital and analog circuitry and signal.
  • Track record of successfully supporting engineering projects into high-volume mass production
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate advanced technical concepts and theories to customers and global teams
  • Basic understanding of failure analysis and reliability engineering
  • Capability to persistently work across multiple projects and prioritize issues with a sense of urgency
  • Team player who can work independently
  • Dutch and English are necessary

Preferences:

  • Training experience for the education of customers and partners
  • Basic experience/familiarity with modifying code and scripts is a plus; Software or firmware programming experience is even better
  • Hacker mentality and ability to develop prototype concepts
  • Ability to become the expert on new platforms for education and demonstration
  • Proven cross-functional and cross-cultural collaboration
  • Experience with graphics editing software
  • Multiple language skills are a plus
  • Experience with displays and display controller systems
  • Experience in the consumer electronics field and a solid understanding of the product design cycle
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
