About eyeo:

eyeo is an innovative, fast-growing start-up that brings groundbreaking technology in the image sensor space. Our advanced color splitter technology has the potential to disrupt a $25 billion market in the coming years, enabling transformative advancements across industries such as consumer electronics, automotive, medical imaging, and surveillance. As one of the first employees at eyeo, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the future of our product offerings and contribute directly to our mission of revolutionizing the imaging technology sector. If you're passionate about driving innovation and want to build the future of imaging, we want you on our team!

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Development Engineer to join our cutting-edge photonics & image sensor team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and integrating novel color splitting photonic structures into CMOS image sensors, enabling the next generation of imaging products with superior color fidelity, sensitivity, and performance.

This is a rare opportunity to join a start-up with groundbreaking technology poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the development of novel color splitting technology applied on image sensors from concept to production.
  • Design and simulate nanophotonic structures for color splitting using tools like Lumerical.
  • Analyze yield data, identify limiting factors, and drive improvements through design, process, or integration changes.
  • Investigate performance issues, yield excursions, and reliability failures using structured RCA methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA).
  • Define and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to improve product robustness and manufacturability.
  • Support ramp-up to high-volume manufacturing with a focus on reliability, yield stability and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal and external cross-functional teams to ensure successful integration and manufacturability.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Optoelectronics, or a related field.
  • Good understanding of CMOS image sensor architecture and fabrication.
  • Experience with photonic or nanophotonic device design and integration.
  • Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience in root cause analysis and problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, JMP).
  • Experience with reliability testing and qualification standards.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Start-Up Mindset.

Why Join eyeo?

  • Groundbreaking Technology: Work on transformative technology with the potential to disrupt a $25 billion market and change the future of image sensing.
  • Early Impact: As one of the first employees at eyeo, your contributions will directly shape the company’s success, culture, and product offerings.
