Are you passionate about data, technology, and community engagement? Do you love Python and data science? We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team and help us organize the PyData Eindhoven event on the 30th of November at the High Tech Campus. All proceeds go to NumFOCUS, which is a non-profit organization aimed at helping the open-source community (e.g. Pandas, Julia, Numpy, etc.)
Role description
As a volunteer for PyData Eindhoven, you will play a vital role in driving and planning our event, ensuring its success and impact. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Social Media Management: Engaging our audience through various social media platforms, promoting the event, sharing updates, and creating buzz around PyData Eindhoven.
2. Partnerships and Outreach: Collaborating with partners, sponsors, and local communities to increase the reach and diversity of our event, fostering meaningful connections within the data and Python communities.
3. Content Management: Assisting with content creation and curation for the event, ensuring that information is accurate, engaging, and up-to-date both before and after the event.
4. Creative Designing: Utilizing your creative skills to design visually appealing promotional materials, banners, and graphics that resonate with our audience and reflect the essence of PyData Eindhoven.
What We're Looking For:
Required:
- Strong passion for events and marketing
- Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English
- Experience in managing social media accounts for events or organizations.
- Collaboration and teamwork skills, as you'll be working closely with the organizing team.
- Basic understanding of content management and graphic design tools (e.g. Canva, Adobe Suite).
- Availability on the 30th of November to actively participate in the event
- Availability for regular meetings after working hours in Eindhoven (roughly once every 2 weeks)
