IoT Platform Engineer

What will you do?

As an IoT Platform Engineer at Senergetics, you will be at the core of building and maintaining a robust internal platform for managing Industrial IoT (IIoT) devices. Your role will involve creating scalable infrastructure, developing internal tools to support your fellow developers, and ensuring the seamless storage, availability, and security of time-series data. Working closely with your fellow colleages, you will automate deployments, optimize database performance, and contribute to a secure, high-throughput data environment. By combining hands-on engineering with cloud-native solutions, you’ll help power a platform that drives innovation in the photonics and sustainability space.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Design, develop, and maintain an internal platform for Senergetics to manage Industrial IoT devices (IIoT). 
• Develop and maintain internal tooling to help other developers use the platform. 
• Deploy and manage data storage solutions. 
• Ensure data availability and consistency. 
• Optimize deployed databases to support high-throughput fault-tolerant data processing. 
• Ensure that systems comply with data security policies, and that data privacy and regulatory compliance is managed across the company. 
• Collaborate with (third-party) DevOps teams to automate deployment, scaling, and management of data solutions. 
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive continuous improvement. 

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 
• 3+ years of experience as a Platform Engineer, Data Engineer, or Software Engineer. Similar roles are also considered. 
• Strong expertise working with Cloud Service Providers, Linux, and Kubernetes. 
• Proficient in Terraform and Python. SQL is a plus. Other languages also count. 
• Familiarity with time-series databases (QuestDB, influxdb, timescale) is a plus. 
• Familiarity with event brokers (NATS, MQTT, Kafka) is a plus. 
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure. 
• Good understanding of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines). 
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. 
• Professional proficiency in English, both verbally and written. 
• Residency in or nearby Eindhoven.

About Senergetics:

Established in March 2022 by Anitha and Frank Jacobs, Senergetics is on a mission to revolutionize industrial practices, prioritizing asset health management for safety, sustainability, and efficiency. Inspired by sensing technology, we're tackling energy spillage and corrosion under insulation (CUI) in the process industry.
