Turning Technology into Business

Every company at High Tech Campus Eindhoven shares a common goal: to develop new technologies and applications that help to solve social problems and challenges, and to successfully bring them to the market. This combination of technology and business is central to the many collaborations on the Campus - and it shows. Multinationals such as Philips, NXP and Intel, small and medium-sized high-tech companies, research institutes, service companies, scale-ups and startups are working together on the technologies and products of tomorrow. Together, more than 12,500 international researchers, developers and business people on the Campus provide an enormous amount of knowledge and dynamics. They have made High Tech Campus Eindhoven one of the global hotspots in the field of Health & Vitality, Sustainability, Applied Intelligence, Smart Environments & Connectivity and Software & Platforms.

Stimulating Innovation Since 1964

Turning one location R&D location into an R&D ecosystem of 300 companies. The driving force behind the establishment of High Tech Campus Eindhoven was Philips. It al started in 1964 with the first buildings in the South of Eindhoven, to act as a single location for all its national R&D activities. This approach proved highly successful. The atmosphere of openness and the concentration of high-end knowledge produced considerable interaction between researchers of different technical disciplines. Philips decided in 2003 to open up the Campus to other technological companies. High Tech Campus Eindhoven is born: massive growth with numerous innovative companies keen to become part of this R&D hotspot. In March 2012 the Campus was taken over by Marcel Boekhoorn. In recent years, the Campus expanded further with the establishment of new companies and expansion of already established companies. All successes led to international attention and eventually a take-over by Oaktree Capital in October 2021. With the new owner the ambitions are even higher than before and High Tech Campus is destinened to be the hotspot for high tech innovation with a strong mission to become the most sustainable campus in Europe.
