Role

We are on the lookout for a dynamic and resourceful Mechanical Engineer to drive the development of our machine designs. As a medior professional, you thrive on translating physics engineering calculations into tangible mechanical solutions, with a keen focus on factors like thermal dynamics, strength, and stiffness. You can convert these solutions into partial machine designs and can prioritize complex problems.  

Responsibilities

• Take the lead on sub-projects, collaborating with key stakeholders such as the Carbyon team and external partners.
• Conduct in-depth physics engineering calculations to underpin your mechanical choices, addressing critical aspects like thermal dynamics, strength, and stiffness.
• Transform these calculations into (partial) machine designs, showcasing your ability to prioritize and navigate through complex challenges even under tight deadlines.
• Demonstrate hands-on expertise from concept to detailed designs, embodying the go-to person for all things mechanical until the team expands.

Job requirements

Our ideal candidate is someone who:

• Has a strong background in engineering; mechanical/machine design (CAD: UG-NX), physics, thermal).
• Has at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
• Has a keen eye to zoom in on all small details and the ability to keep a high-level overview of all aspects involved.
• Is experienced in working with external partners for joint development.
• Thrives in a dynamic and collaborative team environment, demonstrating a proactive and adaptable mindset.
• Enthusiastically embraces our startup's mission and values, energized to contribute to our innovative and impactful journey.
• Lives within commuting distance from Eindhoven or is open to relocating - because that’s where our magic happens.
